I might be interested in a '98 E1 Black/Midnight Blue at a dealer near me and I'm wondering if anyone here knows this car. The interesting part of it is its Carfax history that Kokopellian so kindly ran for me. Originally purchased and titled in Louisville, KY in 1998 and then sold in May of 2000. From there things get interesting. The next entry is by US Customs and the car being exported back from Germany. The next owner is from Littleton, CO in March of 2004. After that it changes hands again in October of 2004 to someone in Monroe, MI. but has 4 service records from Manhattan, KS thru February of 2006. Now it ends up in Wisconsin. If anyone can fill in some details, it sure would help.

Man, sounds like its been around! Hope everything works out for ya...Josh won't have the only Black CSVT in the WI group

A little bumper rash front & rear, couple door minor dings, needs new headlights, interior looks good, 122K and asking $4995. Hoping to take a closer look and test drive this weekend.

Is it stock?? You should be able to get them down from that pretty easily

It appears stock right down to the chrome trimmed grill. It would have to be gotten for less than asking price to make a deal.

There is a guy in Kenosha that has one. Not a part of CEG as far as I know, stock 98.5 black svt.

Theres a couple guys in town here that have black/mnb ones as well, meant in our group that goes to meets and is on CEG or that i've met.

If I found a deal like yours, I'd most likely jump on it too. The $4995 is ONLY the ASKING price. It would have to go for much lower considering the mileage and reconditioning it would need. I need to go there when the dealership is open and get a better look.
But back to my original question, does anyone here on CEG know this car? Did it ever belong to a member? With that storied of a history, it should be pretty easy to remember.

Last year I saw a black one in New Berlin ( not Poles ) around Greenfield and Calhoun. What dealer is the car at?

Its up north. I don't think its ever been around these parts before. My guess is that it was bought at an auto auction by this dealer. I know there was a black CSVT near Moorland and Cleveland Aves. in New Berlin and I have seen another near St. Fair park in West Allis recently too. (Sorry for you non-locals who don't know the area  )
