From my basic knowledge about electricity, circuits, and things like that, if you disconnect the power line to the power antenna, it'll still act as a signal reciever just that the power won't move up or down. Now if I were to solder a copper wire, or conductor wire to the base or metal contact of the antenna, I would then run the wire up top the middle back and install a euro style antenna such as ones on jettas and corollas etc. Is that a feasible mod? In terms of hiding or weatherproofing hte wiring, I'll run it along the weather stripping and maybe under it so it'll be fine...
