I've been trying to call a person that has a Verizon Phone for 3 days. I get a message that says "your call did not go through, please hang up and try again, 0040001". What could be the reason why the call does not go through?

Dunno, I have Verizon and have not had any calls not come through. Can you hear me now?

Does he live nearby? I never had that happen, but I have had my calls dropped before when talking across the U.S. Maybe the person is not in a sevicable area, or changed sevice/number.

They live on the west coast and I am calling from the east coast.

I called Verizon and ask them if they would look up the problem if I gave them the number. They said they could look up and find the problem, but they could not tell me the problem.

They sent me an email. They must be having cell phone problems.

I can make free calls to verizon customers because I have a verizon phone. One of my employers gave me the cell phone because I travel a lot.
