Has anyone with a vortech had to replace the fuel pump yet? If so, with what?

Initial question in troubleshooting

I dunno, but I'm in the same situation...

Even though the S/C was removed at some point, I still have all the other stuff, including the in-line fuel pump that is now going out...

So I will watch this thread also to see if anyone has any suggestions.

I have a brand new Vortech pump in my toolbox, in the box still that I didn't use. I'll sell it for what I paid for it.

Since whitesvt probly needs it worse than me (since mine is intermittant and I have a 2nd car), I'll let him try to buy it off ya first, and I'll look elsewhere. However, if he can't/won't get it, I'll buy it off ya.

Sympoms of mine is intermittantly whining. When it does, the pressure drops to like 30PSI and the needle looks like it has seizures. Car also falls flat on it's face at 3500RPM in this state. Then I'll start the car the next day and it will be fine.

As posted in the other thread, I've also got a used one with low miles that I'd part with. Drop me a PM if you're interested and I'll see if I can find it.

Check the ground on the helper pump!! It tends to corrode and cause the pump to flake out, reground it and it will probably work fine.

The vortech inline pump IS a walbro pump.

It's already shipped on its way to whitesvt.

It was a brand new pump that came with fittings to make it inline clamp-on or inline threaded. I imagine it can be used in-tank too as it looks almost the same.
I think they were 155lph on the vortech kit.
Also it states right on my Vortech invoice that it was a Walbro pump.

I dunno, search maybe? Either way, you are showing excitement over a brand-name of fuel pump. I thought that was rather....well......different.
We get excited over the power produced irregardless of the pump pushing the gas.

A search would have revealed that several people with big horsepower systems (and some that aren't) are using the walbro 255lph pump.

Come on now, be nice. I was nice when I could have been a real ass instead of pointing out obvious stuff, or taking the chance to really start baggin on you. I didn't. And do I get any thanks for my restraint???

Just calm down now and thank me, because now you know and now you don't have to search. <psst..people don't search anyway but we don't let on that we know that>

Besides, I'm sure if Todras or Stazi or Mapoftazi got to you first you'd still be rubbing your arsehole. lol

And thanks for spreading the good wavelengths...they'll neutralize my negative vibes.

Sorry, couldn't resist this one...

Although one might reasonably argue that it is no different from words with redundant affixes like debone and unravel, it has been considered a blunder for decades and will probably continue to be so.
