Fueling Problems

My 1998 6 cyl Contour is having a problem at every service station filling up. The pump keeps shutting off after a few seconds. Even at slowest speed the pump shuts off, it took 15 minutes to put 10 gallons in the car yesterday. Please Help! Jersey4s

I have that problem, too, along with a binding gas cap (fixed by replacing cap, $25 at dealer) Of course it "healed" the past 2 fillups! There is a bad pump at my local Sunoco, even avoiding that one, I had problems. I always have to fill slower at first, with any car I have. At least the recall is in effect for my Mystique, and I work fairly near the Ford dealer.
