I was just wondering if any CEGers went to OCC. I just started auto fundamentals 110. Its a pretty nice shop we will be working in. we have 5 lifts, and a ridiculous amount of tools. speaking of which a rep from Snap-On came by today, Im planing on buying a pretty sweet tool set in the next FEW weeks. After that all i need is a car to work on. I found a couple pretty cheap local Contours. But i want somthing that will accually be a project. I also found a Xr4ti for $300, it has 88k on the clock, small rust spots and a missing pass window. I could buy it today but the only problem is the distance.

BTW if any one need a cheap winter beater, I know a guy in my neighborhood with a 93 Scort GT for $600.it has 107,000mi its blue. LF headlight damage. other than that its tip-top. (i would get it my self but i want somthing with a little more oomph)

if I were you, I would pick up the escort GT. the Mazda motors in those things are really reliable. and $600 for a 93 Scort GT with 100K on the clock is dirt cheap for a reliable car. Plus since you said you will be working in the shop... You probably could mod the piss out of it at no labor cost. a little escort GT with a couple of mods would be pretty fun to drive.

I know how much you want an XR4Ti. There is a guy down the street from me that has one in mint condition, but its an auto

every time I see it I want it more. But its just an overall bad idea right now, a WISE decision on your behalf would be a cheap reliable car. Because it sounds to me like you need better transportation, not a project. Get the escort. you wont be sorry.

I go to OCC. It's my second year there. I go to the Highland Lakes Campus and Orchard Ridge (Farmington Hills) Campus. Last year "Snakous" went to Orchard Ridge Campus and I think he will be their this year as well.

Wait a minute... I just realized your from Toledo. I doubt if you are talking about the same OCC ... is their an Owens Community College!?!? Whatever, I go to Oakland Community College! Yes I feel stupid. Troutslap x2 I should probally read the post subject first next time.

Are you kidding? Our OCC rocks! It is a mixture of extremely hot girls who dropped out of real college because they couldn't keep their grades up, then all kinds of foreign kids who play Xbox all day in the cafeteria (and I mean all day!), and 45 year old mothers who are going to school because they have nothing better to do now that their kids are all moved out (and that includes my mother!). She just finished at OCC and she wanted to take a class with my friend and I.... we were like "uhh no... Your too old!"

Too all you 16 year old contour owners... Community College is the way to go!

I'll agree. I had a good time at OCC in the couple years I was there. But I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say "extremely hot girls." Because I certainly never saw very many. I'll agree to the 45 year old mothers, especially some of the younger milfs It was definitely the way to go IMO. Saved thousands of dollars and it wasn't a whole lot different class-wise compared to GVSU (so far).
