i use distilled water when mixing coolant to 50/50

but I can see your point with flushing it ...

Problem is, flushing with distilled water leaves some in the block, thus making the balance of water to coolant more than 50/50...

I wonder how much to adjust the mixture to compensate for this?

Sorry, I'm just obsessive about things being done exactly right.

yeah I get your point, I don't think that much will stay, i bet if you mix at 45/55 it would come out 50/50 in the end

Sounds like a plan. Next time I'll just make sure to drain and refill my coolant every year so I don't need to worry about flushing.

sounds like a bit of overkill, does it not? Maybe every other year.....

Costs $8 annually and it's less work than an oil change. Probably overkill, yes, but I dont mind.
