I have a few questions that were not answered by a search.

1) What kind of dry shot can the injectors handle?

2) What kind of shot (wet/dry) can I run with the stock ECU/fuel pump? I don't need 100% safety, just "no one's blown it up yet" is fine. It seems to be a 75 or 100 shot, from my searching.

3) Wet or dry? Dry is cheaper and doesn't puddle, and doesn't (usually) need to be car-specific as much, right? But you can run more power without upgrading injectors, and I know there's more differences I can't remember.

4) What kits have simple wiring? A WOT switch I can wire myself, and I can probably do a lot more if the kit is pretty simple.

5) What's a window switch? An RPM window?

You have 17# injectors, correct? I don't recall seeing what HP rating they are good for, but I believe Hoosier_Contour(back in the day) was running a 125 shot. I'd have to see if he was running a dry kit, and if he swapped out the injectors or not.

I'd bet you could get away with a 100 shot, but if you want to get some longevity out of the kit, and your motor, you might start with a 75 shot and see how she likes it.

It's really up to you. You'll hear people praise both kits. Really, you have to make your own decision on which kit works best for YOU.

ZEX!! Most of the kits have instructions when buying new. The Venom Kit has pretty extensive instructions, and what wasn't in there, Stazi and I found it on here.

A window switch is basically a safety precaution, that activates the nitrous ONLY at a certain rpm, under WOT. If you aren't at said rpm(3500rpm's for example) and at WOT, the nitrous will not activate.

There are a lot of people running the ZEX kit on here. It's relatively cheap for the startup kit, and you can buy the extras, like bottle warmer, purge valve, blow down tube, etc. as you go...

I'm going to be MegaSquirting the N20. This means it's a dry-type nozzle, but the same computer that does the normal running injects the N20, so it can just crank up the injectors to compensate. With that in mind, does anyone know how much juice I can support with the 17#ers? These are the funny short ones - is there a 21# or something I can get easily to replace them if it's not enough?

I do not know a lot about nitrous, but you can use the 24#ers if the 17's are not enough.

With the pissy sized jets everyone runs on a Contour I can't see hoe on earth you could [uddle the nitrous in our intake. That and the fact that there is really no place for it to pool anyway. Cracks me up everytime I read that question or read about that issue, cos I think it's impossible to do on a properly installed Contour nitrous setup.

So... what cars have 24 lb injectors? Any more data on how much you can pump through the 17s?

There is also the 19#ers. The 19# injectors are 11% larger than the 17# injectors and on average will flow ~10% more fuel if swapped out.
The 3L has the 24#ers in em but they must say 4260 283 2f1e 11 on em to be 24#ers. Some people think they have 24's but here are the codes for the others.... Box Code Injector Size
OLV1 16lb
RXR1 22lb
ITW2 21lb
AEA2 21lb
NCB0 21lb
They should be available at a local boneyard if you want to get em there.
Here is a little bonus info for ya.. Earlier 3L Duratecs (96-99 split port) used 24lbs injectors with a narrow spray pattern. After 2000 all 3L Duratecs began using 19lbs injectors with a wide spray pattern.
Hope this helps a little bit.

This is NOT what mine look like. What cars use the other type, where the wires plug in the top and the tip fits in the fuel rail?

SVTs have 19lbers. And if you are running a wet kit, upgrading the injectors is a waste of money.

Phil,

On that picture, it was taken in a state of repair.

The injeectors in that picture would actually "pop" in to the holes on the manifold, the two black strips (seen in the picture, underneath the injectors) would then run on TOP of the injector/rail, and the plugs would plug in to the top, just like you said your system does.

I have side-feed injectors, those are top-feed. They're quite different. The fuel rail is on the "top" of those, the wires are on the side.
