I hope someone out there shows the same pioneering spirit that Ray had in the early days of the 3.0 swaps. I know that there will be a number of issues to deal with, such as PCM integration, maybe package height...but I'm sure it will be a matter of time before some creative type makes it work. Nice to think about a 300 hp NA alternative without a lot of expensive parts.

I don't think he meant anything negative by it Y2K.
And to the original poster, Obviously you can see that people respect "Ray", so please show respect and spell his name right if it is incorrect. That shows a bit of ignorance, even though I'm sure you had no bad intentions.
Personally, I did not know Ray. I've just been around these boards for the past couple years and never gotten the opportunity to talk to him.

That would be Ray McNary.
Ray had inside sources at Ford and was the first to let us know that the 99 Taurus 3.0 Duratec would have the same bell housing pattern as the 2.5 making it easier to do a 3.0 conversion on a Contique.
Ray also was a leader on modifications at the time.
I'm sure that he would be trying to find out all he could to see what it may take to install a 3.5 in a Contique.
I miss Ray. May he rest in peace.

Thanks for a little backround on him. Like I said, he was before my time, I suppose I owe him a thank you for the ability to have a 3L.
For the man upstairs...Thank you.

Gents...my deepest apologies of course. No slight was intended, and I don't think that Ray McNairy would have interpreted it as one. I promise...my last mistake for 2006.
