There is a plastic vent for the defroster on the dash back by the window. It keeps popping out and I cannot get it stay. Could it be that my dash is warped? Any suggestions on how to fix? TIA.

You do have the infamous warped dash. There was an owner nitification program about that (similar to a recall) but it expired years ago.

There is a kit that was used by the recall to repair that. It includes a larger metal plate to replace that plastic piece that pops up.

So a search for "warped dash" and you can learn much more about the problem and the possible cures.

Thanks. I thought the infamous warped dash was when it warped around the instrument panel up front. (I had that happen with a 97 Taurus). This warping is in the back, where the windshield meets the dash. Is this the same problem?

Yes. It is from failure of the glue. They tried to use something that was environmentally friendly but did not hold up as well. So much for validation of new materials.
