Anybody heard of this?

I was referred to it by a friend. It is supposed to be FDIC insured and has a savings yield of 5.15%?

Any information would be appreciated...

Yes they are legit. ING Direct and HSBC are two other banks that offer high interest rates.

www.bankrate.com will have your top rates.

I'm using www.worldsavings.com for their short term high yield CD rates, but they have brick & mortar branches in my town.

Totally real bank and based in NY. I have been using them for years, moved all of my money out of ING since ED's rates have consistently been better. The site was recently redone, so its even easier to use now.
