2- Kicker Solo X 12" (2500w rms & 5000w Peak 2ohm DVC)
or
2- Kicker L7 15" (1000w rms & 2000w Peak 2ohm DVC)

with 1- Kicker KX2500.1 (2500w mono output)
Each sub will recieve 1250 max wattage from the wiring sequence

The question is for the maximum boom with the amount of power at hand which sub will perform better?

(Enclosure depends on the outcome of my research)

if they're getting 1250 watts, and the 15" only handles 1000 RMS, when you really crank it you'll get some distortion and will probably damage the sub. if you want more "boom", smaller subs tend to have a tighter, punchier bass. bigger subs tend to be able to handle lower frequencies and the bass carries better, but my vote would go for the 12"s

u could build a bandpass box for the 12s to get it boomy. gotta guess a bandpass for a 15 will be huge. thats alot of power. r u sure u really need all that? or do u just want to be able to tell people that your system is 4million watts. is your front stage getting lots of power too? that might be way out of balance if the front is getting very little power.

How about this.... pick the speakers that sound the best to you.

If these two choices have met all your other criteria (price, power handling, enclosure size, etc) then go listen to them and pick the one that sounds better. Unfortunately, I nor anyone else can tell you what sounds good to you.

I haven't seen any of these speakers in any stores out here. I actually own one 12" Solo X and it sounds crazy. I doubt if I would find a 15" L7 in a store display in my area. My question is since it's only getting half of it's RMS, is it worth even bothering with them as opposed to some subs that I can achieve max RMS? Kind of like how the CSVT really moves at 4000RPM as opposed to trying to get somewhere at 2000RPM...

get the 12's...one they will save more space, and once u amp them, they should hit harder!

I think that's where i'm leaning...

Still I am trying to find out. What is more optimal? A sub that can recieve much more power but is only recieving 1/2 of it's rms or a sub that cannot recieve as much power but is at it's full rms? Of course the 12" is this super spl sub but I'm just playing music and not competing....

I don't even know how I would fit the 15's in my trunk

you know what, go with 2 10 inch subs. I find my 2 12 inch subs are way more overkill than i need for the car. Just my two cents, If I ever buy new subs agaun I will be going that route.

Overkill as in too much bass or as not really hearing a major difference?
