Alright here's the deal. I live in a residential part of Chicago and can't have anything that resembles a work truck. I really want a pickup truck, but my girl wants an SUV.

Best of both worlds, a Ford Explorer Sport Trac!!!

Really like the black one, 4x4 of course, and I should be able to get away with parking it on the street here.

I've been into this truck for about two weeks now, since me deciding that killing the fourth Contour in my life wasnt a feasible idea.

I have found aftermarket for it, including intake, exhaust, chip, a lowering kit and even headers.

Tell me what you guys think/know about them.
All opinions welcome of course...Exept for Steedas!

Local CEG'er had one. Put like 9k miles on it in like 2 years and ended up selling it and getting into a loaded fusion.

They were tested to be the car/truck most prone to rollovers, so I would be sure to put some aftermarket suspension on pretty quick. Other than that, engines are pretty reliable and they seem like a great compromise between a truck and SUV

I like em. Your other options in similar vehicles are what? Avalanches and maybe ridgelines? They both cost a bunch more.

I read that somewhere. But lowering them is supposed to be a breeze.

The kit I found, including shocks (Edelbrock) is a bit steep though... But it even includes the rear sway bar.

Headers and exhaust on the same site!!!
.....SUPACHAAGA!!!!

I owned one. I actually enjoyed it because I had a nice comfortable ride and still had the bed to haul things in. I really liked the roll down back window. I had thought about doing a few things to it lowering it and putting some nice rims on it.Trucking magazine did a nice spread on costumized sport tracs. My wife killed those dreams she traded it in for a Mustang GT. After she got the mustang she told me that she really never liked the sport trac.

It'll be a work in progress, just like all of my cars have been.

But could you imagine a black Sport Track, Painted body moldngs to black to match the body, dropped with black rims and a polished lip...

The last car payment I've ever made was about 3 years ago, (If you don't included the payments to Stazi for the 3L swap that is ).

But I like it, she likes it....plus I'm going to keep the $700 Toyota beater I have to get me to work and back.

I don't recall ever being like you big shots and having a real car/truck and a daily driver too!!!
