I have a kit from Summit to relocate my battery to my trunk to give me more room to install te CAI that is from CC. I have a question that i ran into. 1. I noticed that the positive post has some wires coming off of it that go to the fuse box. If i move my batery to the trunk what am i supposed to do with those wires. (how i get power to them?) also, 2. If i just need to run a seperate wire to the trunk batery then what gage of wire do i need to use on it. 3. can i do the CAI without movingt the batery to the trunk? meaning can i move the fuse box without doing any rewireing?
Thanks

1. Create a terminal in the engine compartment that run your newly routed positive battery to from the trunk. Then tighten the old post that you used to connect to your battery to the new one.

2. See above.

3. Yes, you just move the battery and fuse box over on that bracket. You will have enough room to fit the CAI piping along side of it.

4. Haha, how much do you want for the battery relocation kit if you don't use it?

Ya it fits with the battery smashed agensit the coolant hoses. I had to reconnect my pipes for my cai since the ones I got from GMK dont do well in heat. Took out my battery and it had scuffmarks that were kind of deep indentation that worried me. It was from the metal hose connector behind the water pump. I installed a shield the will hopefully wear down instead of the battery casing.

My point is that if you have the battery relocation kit it will make the cai much easier to install and will give it more room. I can send you pictures if you would like to see mind installed without relocating the battery.

You will run wire to the trunk then in the engine bay have distribution blocks that all of the wires will hook up to. A couple people on here have very good pics showing what I am talking about. Hopefully they will chime in.

0 gauge should be big enough, I have not done a battery relocation so 2 or even 4 gauge might be adequate.

If you have the factory 2.5 in it and no major stereo installed, 2 gauge is the smallest I'd go. Personally, I ran 1/0 welding cable from the trunk and haven't had a problem yet. Just make sure you get a good ground from the battery to the body and you should be fine with 2.

I would recommend against 4 gauge though.

I'll put holes in him!!

Thanks for clearing that up I figured that 1/0 or 0 would be the gauge that would need to be run.

4 ga worked fine for me. I measured the voltage drop at start and it was minimal - I don't remember the numbers, but it was fine.

I only did that because I already had a ton of it. I'd buy 2 to do it again, 1 or 0 is better but $$. The biggest thing is terminals - do them right! Get good blocks and make good contact to the frame.
