Have a 97 Mondeo (UK Contour)V6 and have had the tranny rebuilt once and back for a fix after 6 months. Now shifting is very harsh & jerky and I have fingers crossed it is not Trans again.

Wondering if Vehicle Speed Sensor could be the cause. Don't seem to have any problems with Speedometer. Have purchased OBD SCantool but tried to hook up laptop last night and thats died!!!!

Oh BTW - IMRC is faulty checked last night and all of the wires from IMRC to wherever(where is the other end and can I get to it without a major teardown?? so that I can replace it)have insulation burned off. If they short will they do permenent damage..or maybe I can removed that part of the loom temporarily to get the car mobile

IMRC fix is next if I can get the plug out of the case and the wires replaced/repaired.

Welcome . Do a ATFluid 3x (in Transaxle forum) first and see if it helps. Then try the Turbine shaft speed sensor.

ATFluid change (do it yourself 3x drain and refill $30, thanks to starjammir)
