I need some tips on how to check the vacuum system on my brothers 95 SE.
I heard about using smoke to find where its leaking, Or could i just feel/hear the air rushing.
His car is showing signs of:
No power down low (below 3900 rpm) and crappy braking. So im assuming its a vacuum leak or a vacuum valve that is broken.

95 V6 is vacuum operated secondaries. Check vacuum hose from UIM to brake booster for leaks. Also check vacuum hose which goes to the IMRC. Vacuum operated IMRC will be normally open without vacuum. On starting car, it should have vacuum and close the butterflies. Then at maybe 4000 RPM, it should open.

the Vac hose to Brake booster has been cracked before (like broke in half) and fixed with a joint connecter that never really fit. But why is it now just messing up?
And the IMRC closes, if i watch it when the car starts i can watch it close so i know its not the IMRC... Im thinking i will replace the vac hose on top of the UIM first with one from a junk yard.

The hose probably collapse recently and made a big enough difference now to cause the brake booster issue.
$26 to fix the hoses

Can also spray ether around the lines. Car will rev up when you find the spot.
