Can't quite describe the noise, but it seems to be coming from the serpentine area. Up close there's some rattling, but while driving it's more of a wheezing. My bet is one of the bearings driven by the belt. Seems to be up higher instead of lower, but that's just a brief observation. I put a new belt on maybe 15-20k miles ago. Tensioner was tight, took my whole weight on a 1 ft breaker bar going through the wheel well to move it easily. Assuming it's one of the other accessories, how easy is it to replace any of those things?

Click this thread . It could be idler pulley or tensioner.

Thanks for the pointer. I'm going to try to do the fix suggested. Problem with searching for a noise is that everybody describes the noise differently. I searched for tensioner but did not see the post, perhaps because it's from couple years ago.
