Hello all,

I just got my 2000 Ford Contour.
I have a question hopefully somebody can answer.
I am going to putting it up on jackstands to do some work.
I know the jack stands go on the reinforced slots on the sides.
But where do I use my floor jack to jack up the front and the back of the car?

Thanks !!!
-Brent

On my lowered svt, I use the stock jack to lift it on the jack points. I put jack stands under the front frame rails and then there are some smaller frame rails in the rear that are a sorta tight fit and the jack stands have to go almost all the way up to reach. You also have to watch for the brake lines and whatnot in the rear.

Funny you post this NOW.

I had an incident earlier today while rotating my tires But it was the jack's fault.

Didn't raise the car up far enough.. got the wheel off, but couldn't get it back on, and then the brand new jack let out and my car was sitting on the sideskirt with a front tire crunched up into the wheel well. Don't know how I got outta that one alive I thought I bent the studs to [censored]

Time to take the crap $35 jack back and get the $100 racing jack

But anyways, check this out: http://www1.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1b/c2/6b/0900823d801bc26b.jsp

You can also jack the car up on the front subframe to get the wheels off the ground easier. Too bad I found this out now
