OP dex Newbie D Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 1	I have a 96 contour 2.0L auto trans that stalled on my son while he was going to his friends. He was on an interstate hwy. at the time. I had to have the car towed (flatbed) home. It has fuel (which I expected at first) I rented an obd-2 reader & the only code was P0401. From all the different sources I've tried I didn't realize an EGR insufficent flow would keep the car from starting? Is this possible? or is there probably somrthing else that would register an EGR code? I'm going to try cleaning carbon from ports anyway. thanks & best regards Dex

Tony2005 Addicted CEG\'er T Joined: Jun 2005 Posts: 5,345 Virginia, USA	Welcome . Clean the throttle body and test the DPFE too. TB cleaning and install a new gasket when done. DPFE test from Autozone "Always do the cheap and easy ones first." 1996 V6 ATX 96K miles
