Hey guys, I'm replacing my ball joints right now, and the kit comes with bolts and nuts to replace the now existing rivits. Just curious of what the torque specs should be for the bolts, or if its just a "tighten the hell out of them" type of thing. LEt me know asap. Thanks.

haha, cool.

Got another question...grinding these damn rivets out while still on the car is a major Pita. I figured I'd take the whole arm off. I took the nuts off the bolts in the arm, but the bolts seem to only want to come out half way...any tricks? (as I now start to consult my Ford CD)

Ford cd says they should just come out...guess I'll give them a little more hammer.

Yea you can take them out if you sawsall then in half and install upside down? Either that or drop the subf. It's not hard with the right tools. Just need a cutting wheel and gring a + in them. Grab the pneumatic chisel then and and let her rip. The top of the rivets pop right off.

Yea, I wound up taking the arms off, so I could grind/cut the rivits. Got them ground on the one side good and could't beat the bracket off. So I ground the otherside (topside) and tried agfain and it still didn't want to budge...So I took a torch to it for a few and then gave it a good whack and it came apart. Everything seems to be fine...I'm a little hesitant to drive it though, because when it malfunctioned the other day, I was lucky to be going only 5mph...now if I had been going 30-40...I could have been having my car or me scraped off a pole.
