OK, So last week I found that my FOB was defective and I bought a new one on eBay.

Now all works except for the trunk.
It will open with the key and the cable but not with the FOB.

I put my Voltmeter across the actuator input and I am getting 12 volts all the time.

I assume that I should only get the 12V signal when I press the Trunk button on the FOB.

Who can shed some light on this one?

Gary

OK, now I owe myself a DOH!

Turns out, I was metering another circuit...
I believe to be related to security?

Anyway, this looks so similar to the Moonroof problem.
Remember the little plastic gear that wears out on the moonroof?
It costs $55.00 to replace?

Well, my Keyless Entry Trunk Opening Motor has the same issue.
Yet, duifferent as the gear that is damaged here4 is a White Metal little gem.
It has lost a tooth on the pinion side.
It drives the rack that pulls the mechanism that opens the latch.
I have taken it all apart, cleaned and regreased everything in an effort to make it work, if only for a while.

To replace this unit will cost $90.00 with our CEG discount.
Does anyone have one of these that is in good condition?

I will post the results after reinstalling the unit.

Gary
