My mechanic that rebuilt my ATX told me that the valve body does not need to be replaced in a CD4E rebuild. He told me that he is going to take it apart and clean it and reassemble it. Is this ok? Is the valve body replacable later with the transmission in the car? Thanks for reading my post.

Rebuild and use Sonnax or Transgo kit. Yes, it is "rebuildable" without taking the tranny out of the car but why go through the hassle. Do it now.
VB thread

Another good thread.
