Car: 1996 Contour GL...4cyc....automatic

1) Which fuses do I pull in the power distribution box to
reset the PCM? ( will disconnecting the battery do the
same thing?)

2) (Bonehead question)...never understood the o/d button
on my shifter. One guy said...45mph and under...push
button on..(meaning green light on dash says o/d off)
and 45mph or faster...push o/d button off..no green
light on dash. (yes, i am confused)

3) Auto. transmission in 96 contour...computer controlled?
Location of main tranny sensor in power dist. box or
controlled by the PCM.

Thanks. Have a good one.

"1) Which fuses do I pull in the power distribution box to

Fuses 4 and 11

"( will disconnecting the battery do the

Yes, but you lose the radio preset stations and clock will have have to to be reset.

Leave it alone. Only use it for towing or if you do not want it to shift by itself (between 3 and 4) excessively on mountains.

I think it is PCM but most codes are not stored when engine is turned off.
