OP RamAir00 Newbie R Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 5	1998 2.5 Contour SE 91k++ miles I bought the car from a friend and the speed and odo were not working, but after driving by the tach for over a year i'm ready for the speed to work. I have inspected the cable in the engine compartment and checked all the fuses i could find. Could it be the sending unit on the transmission or wherever that is located? Any info would be great. Did your buddy have an aftermarket overlay or did he still have the stock one. Good luck and keep us posted. If it is a manual tranny, change the Vehicle Speed Sensor. You will need to drain and refill the fluid too. Just in case pieces of the VSS fell in the tranny.
