David Godfrey used a T5 transmission in his 3L merkur project. Best bet would be to get in contact with him. He has info. over on merkur tech and has his own webpage (http://www.key-ideas.com/DavidGodfreyPage.htm). He turbocharged the car recently too.

Can the attidude or you're out of here. This is not a very common topic at all and there's no reason to jump on him. You're not one to talk either, since you ask a lot of questions that come up a lot.

Yeap not a common question at all and not very much information about it anywhere. It is easy to attach a zetec to a good many fwd, rwd, and awd trannies with existing ford parts, but not much has been tried with the duratec so the information is not out there.

But what would be the point of that? It's a Zetec.

Why can't a Zetec have AWD or RWD?

Add a turbo and isn't that what the EVO, WRX, SRT-4, etc. are doing?

I was just trying to say that if you are trying to make a faster car/ more high performance car (RWD, etc.) why would you start with a I4 engine.
But whatever, to each his own.
