Gauge cluster or gauge faces? I'm assuming you are doing a gauge cluster.
Gauge cluster is complete, so the speedo will go up to 160MPH, but will be perfectly accurate.
Gauge faces to stick in place of your stock faces will not work. They will be totally off.

Thank you.. And yes plan on using the gauge cluster. want the 160mph over the 130. and not to keen on the aftermarket overlays.
Thanks again.

Oooooo, crap. I didn't notice the 95 thing. Early 95's have a cable driven speedo, while later 95-00 use a VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). The gauge cluster will only work if you have a VSS and not cable driven. Depends on when your car was built.

Just make sure you get an early set of gauges the later models won't work properly the fuel gauge for example won't work properly. I'm speaking from experience.. I have a set for 98.5 vehicles that wont work in me 97 mystique.
P.S. If anybody wants them they're for sale.
For Sale 98+ SVT gauge cluster

I don't think that you will need the early SVT gages but you need to search aesthetics becasue for it to work in a pre98 you need to modify the curcuit on the back of the cluster, it has been done, that and you need to make sure you have a non-cable drive speedometer

It is a cable driven speedo.. Is there anyway to modify that to a speed sensor? Willing to do the work needed and all.. a friend of mine says that he thought that you could install the vehicles speed sensor on the transmission and convert it. I would just like more than one opinion. Let me know what you think. Spencer 1995 Contour

you could just get the overlays and recalibrate the speedo...

You want to tell me how you get the needle to slow down? If stock is 130MPH, how in the world would you get it to read with the increments that are shown on the 160MPH?
Also, overlays will not work because the trip button is on the opposite side for the cable driven Contours.

your plain out of luck on this one, noting will work unless you ahve overlays made specifically for your car to match the speedo as it is
