how do i get at my gauge clusetr in my 98 svt contour, it has no lights and the fuse is fine so i need to trace the power wire so i need to take the gauges out thanks redneckboarder

First, SEARCH...
There already is a how-to on this.
Alright. So pop off the contour thingy on the dash, behind it will be 2 screws, take them out. There is also one behind the defroster button, and there are 2 right above the guages. Pull the trim piece off and you will see 5 screws, undo them and Voila!
Also, did you check to make sure your dimmer isnt on REALLY LOW.

Gauge Cluster, no lights? Fuse fine?
I wonder if it is the headlamp switch. Turn on the lights, go to the back of the car. Are the rearlights on (not license tag lights)? Yes, then check the dimmer as suggested. No, check if covered by Headlamp switch recall.

i figured it out, when my radio was stolen whoever did it unclipped the connector on the back of the dimmer switch, thanks all who replied it was a big help -redneckboarder
