Anyyyyyway since I'm home sick today I've decided to do some reading up on tire choices for my car. So I would like to invite everyone to take this poll as I've reached my reading limit and am more confused than ever.Feel free to mention any noteworthy tires you may be/have run. -Thanks

It depends on what weather you're gonna use them in, how much you want to spend, how much life you wanna get out of them, and how you drive. Not every tire is the right one for everyone.

Price doesn't help without the size.

I try to keep it a bit cheaper when going with street tires, especially if you run through them quick. I'd probably go with the avon m500 or if you wanna save a bit more, the kumho spt. If you're looking for 215/45/17s, I'd get the eagle f1s from tirerack RIGHT NOW. Falken Ziex ZE-512s are very good as well. Although they're an all season, they supposedly act more like a summer tire.

BFG G-Force Sports, 340 treadwear and I think they handle great. I'm on my second set now.

Bridgestone RE-01Rs are probably the best you can get right now. They should be along the lines of an S0-3 or T1R, but significantly faster. $150 a pop for 225/50R16. Or, You can land Azenis 615s for $118 from discounttiredirect.com. The Bridgestone is more refined and at least as fast, the Azenis gives up some civilty to provide you with ferocious grip for less money.
Cheaper tires:
ES100s are not fast. They do feel really good though. The carcass is great even though the compound is outdated.
ZRis are faster and pretty sticky, but the carcass sucks compared to the Yoks.
The Kumho SPT is possibly the best of both worlds. I have not driven them in anger, so I can't tell you anything for sure, though. I'm considering picking up a set if they ever offer a 14".
The Ventus Z212 wears very quickly. For street use I might choose the Kuhmo MX over the Hankook. The Hankooks are better in the wet, but the MX is going to last longer.
ZE-512s are good tires. The carcass isn't very sporty, but the compound is surprisingly grippy for an "all-season".

I may get these for my "future" rims, but just curious, how long do they last, mile wise?

I am in the same situation. I have stock SVT wheels which call for 215/50zr16. Just about the only thing I can find with a Z speed rating is the BF Goodrich g-force T/A KDW. Can I put other size tires on that would be safe without lowering the car even more?
Thanks
