its a 2.0 ford zetec inline 4. so today i dropped one of those headgasket guides its like a big washer. down into the oil pan i think. look at my picture and you can see where it went. is that in the oil pan. i cant take off the oil pan becuase the engine is supported by a jack, the head is off. what about some sort of magnet, would an oil change release it. i tried a pen magnet but nothing

I'll be the first to say, that link doesn't work. I'm guessing you dropped it down a passage maybe, it could be a water passage your talking about or oil passage.... Either way you need that claw type thing that was recommended by ajax to reach down there. Maybe tie a small nut on a string and lower it down into the passage to see how far down it goes.
