i plan on switching to a 3.l uim and want to run the 3L t.b. with it so i can use the cable bracket. so what im wondering is if the svt cable that im running now will work with the stock 3L t.b. or will i have to swith back to the standard non svt cable. i plan on using a 3L t.b. from a pre 2000 taurus\sable.

They open the same way but they don't use the exact same mountup. You will have to modify something.

BTW, the SVT throttlebody in stock form is exactly the same size as the 3L throttlebody anyway. You could probably just bolt it up but you will have to do something with your IAC valve.

Actually, search for Todras and Stazi's old posts because they do the most straight 3L drop-ins you know.

so if i was to get a 3l t.b. bracket i could use my svt t.b. and cable? from the pictures ive looked up the 3l and svt t.b. are the same with the exception of the idle port being built into the 3l version. so im assuming the 3l throttle cable bracket will work. if i just mount the svt t.b. upsidedown on the 3l manifold.

Either the guts of an 3L TB need to be swapped to an SVT TB or the 3L bracket needs to be hacked with an SVT bracket. Either way an SVT cable and bracket is required.

Yep, this is what I had to do was combine a 3L bracket and SVT bracket. The cable ends are different where they connect to the brackets.
