Ok all I have a general question. My friend is looking at a 99 mystique with 200,00 miles on it. It does have the 2.5 v6. He was wondering if there is anything he should look out for and if anyone else has had one go this far and if not farther. The body is in pretty good shape for having high miles. The interior is also in fairly good shape. Thanks for your time.

It all depends on how it has been cared for. I have 218,000 miles on mine, and I'm not tired of it yet. My goal is to get it to 300,000 and then see if I still like it.

I have 205,000 miles on my '99 Mystique LS (2.5, atx). Still runs just fine and no repairs other than just routine maintenance. I'm intending to get at least another 50,000 miles out of it, maybe more.

Well im not a fan of the 2.5 v6 it has more problems than the 2.0 Zetech, but shoot 200,000? if its cheap then yes if its to much then no because ur only probley going to get 100,000 more out of it My opinion Thanks Bscontour

Yes, there are lots of things to watch out for.
Wiring harness
Wheel bearings
Suspension
But mostly you should watch out for a ...
Used Contique with 200,000 miles. Unless you are looking for a disposable car.

Well bearings and suspension don't scare us too much. We both have rebuilt many car suspensions. As far as the car being disposable.... That's fine for him. I am sure if he gets a year out of it he will be Happy... I mean with 200,000 miles he is not looking for alot.
