Car has been sitting up for a year slowly building up the new 3.0 liter motor. I had to transfer my pauter rods and had some new diamond pistons made. I went with 8.5 CR and I plan on cranking the boost as far as it can go on the hybrid turbo. I still have to put on accessories and cut some tabs and tap my knock sensor. And it will be dropping in later this week. Here are some pics of the new motor.

Still have more hard work ahead hope it pays off.

Very nice . How much boost are you hoping to run?

I'm going to be building up my longblock soon ... sounds like we have similar setups with exception of the CR.

- 1999 Taurus 3L Block
- 2001 Escape 3L Oval Port Heads
-- All new valve train parts
-- ST220 springs
-- Turbo PnP From Kinger
-- ARP head studs
- Pauter Rods
- Diamond 9:1 CR pistons
- Blah
- Blah
- Blah

With the chamber work done by Kinger, I will probably be in the neighborhood of 8.7:1-8.8:1

So, let me ask you this ... what kind of paint did you use? I also plan on painting my block, but haven't picked out or research the paint yet. I have EVERYTHING, just need to assemble and drop into the Cougar.

Well I will go to the dyno and push as much air through the 500 cfm water to air spearco measuring the pressure drop and intake temp to find the most boost there. I expect to get about 8 psi with the smaller intercooler safely with alcohol injection maybe more. Then After the motor has a few miles on it I will get my new chip from streetflight with the adjustable trims. By then I will have my 800 cfm intercooler fabbed together.

then back to the dyno turning up the boost to 15psi + the motor setup the way it is should get 450whp no problem with the t3/t4.

At autozone they have the paint 500F and has a metallic look like mine. I put down a base coat which is a gray ground coat. This gives the paint a depth perspective that makes it look simlar to powder coating. The reflection is the best and dries within a hour of touch but takes 6-7 days to cure perfectly.

Looks good. Hope to see some good numbers!

What are the specs on your T3/T4 turbo?

Why worry about the knock sensor when you'll end up turning it off in your tune?

I am having one hell of time getting the tranny to mate up I don't have a line up pin for the clutch. I am tired of trying but tomorrow is anothrer day too.

Try using a deepwell socket just big enough to get through the friction plate of the clutch. You might need to hold the socket so that the plate is centered while you put a lil bit of pressure onto it via the pressure plate mounting bolts. Once there, everything should line up with maybe a small wiggle of the tranny to get the splines lined up.
