check this out for capacity

you also need a vacuum pump to pump down the system before you can charge it

TOTAL system oil capacity is 7 oz of PAG oil.

This assumes you remove EVERYTHING and drain the oil (which is the ONLY way you can get an accurate oil fill).

So, If I just R&R the accumulaotr/Drier do I even need any oil? Or does a significant amount settle in the unit?

I have no desire to open things up beyond replacing this device.

Open the old accumulator and dump out any oil in it into a graduated cup. Measure it and replace with the same amount poured into the new can.

If your system has been leaking, you've probably lost some oil. How much? No way to know unless you open up everything and measure how much is left.
