It's always reassuring to hear about how well Contours can take hits. Glad you're OK, sorry to hear about it, though.

I feel very lucky that my injuries were not more severe. When you see the car I think it looks like someone would have gotten injured in it for sure. I woke up this morning to a stiff neck and a small bruise in the middle of my back, right by my spine. I feel lucky that this is all that happened. I am going to take pictures of the car today and I am going to try to get a copy of the pictures the police took. I will post them on here for sure.

As for another car, I admit, an SVT would be very nice and is very tempting to me but I think I am going to stay away from Ford's for awhile. My parents and I have a had some bad luck with their dealerships, cars, and customer service over the last couple years and I think it is time for a change. Today I am going to get insurance quotes on some other cars out there. What I am leaning towards looking at are : 2000+ Mitsubishi Eclipses, 2000+ Volvo's, 2000+ Cadillac Sevilles (with the price of gas who knows), and I guess some other stuff along the way if it strikes my interest. I am lucky to be here and I thank you all for your concerns and well wishes.

I love car-shopping. Is MY2000 your cutoff? What's your price range? That's a wide variety of vehicles you mention, there. What are your requirements? I would think Maximas and even some BMWs might be within scope.

I would have to say 2000 would be my cutoff. I like a lot of cars out there and the new Maximas and BMW's are real nice. I am trying to stay around $200 per month on a car. I am planning on making a $5000 down payment, depending on how much I get for my car and everything in it that got ruined. Seems like the new Maxima's are a bit out of my price range. I don't really care for the older bodystyle. I am looking at some BMW's online but it seems for about 12-14k I can only get a Beemer with close to 100k miles on the clock. Hopefully I can find a car pretty quickly, as I will be driving my mom's 2000 Taurus for the time being. Still having to wait to get a loaner car.

An interesting note on my accident is that I found out the guy who hit me owns one of the banks in this town. The truck he was driving was actually in the bank's name. He's got money thats for sure and my insurance agent says he expects him to try to get this all worked out pretty quick.

Well things can happen down the road with back pain and such. I'm being serious. Just make sure you don't close the deal in case something happens. Make sure you are checked out to bottom by a couple specialists.
