So I was cleaning up my summer rims today, in preparation to swap out a damaged rim. I bought 2 new yokohama avs es100's to put on the fronts, and since the rears looked ok I was just going to leave them alone.
I had to put some air in the tires i'm going to reuse since they've been sitting for a while, and i noticed the stalk/shaft of the valve (the part that sticks out of the rim) has cracks in it. They don't go all the way through...and I don't know how long they've been there, but the tire holds air fine. Is there more than one layer to these things, or is that bad? Should I have them replaced??
