While pulling my tranny out i noticed that my CV boot on the right side is leaking out grease. Should i replace the whole things or since it is still not making any noise find a way to seal it and put grease back in it. If so what kind of grease and sealant or what is a good replacement CV.

just buy a replacement boot kit. it should come with the proper grease. if you feel unsafe tearing down the cv joint and replaceing the boot and have the money to just buy a new axle then go that way.

Whatever you do, don't, and I repeat don't buy the split-boot repair kits with screws that hold the boot together. Buy a complete, one piece boot, and some of the OEM type snap-lock (crimp style) rings that secure the boot to the axle.

Those split-boot (quick boot) POS's don't last for crap on 95 out of 100 users who get duped in to buying them.

I actually just got my GCK axle from that website above...everything looks good so far..I haven't put it in.

You can't beat 80 shipped for a brad new, good axle. You spend more time replacing a boot, and depending how long the grease has been low...you may have a worn out joint anyway.

A good boot usually costs 30 or so.
