as I keep saying, just get a regular motocraft battary. Insanly long warrenty...last a looooooong time (mine went 12 years in temps ranging from -50 to 100 above). Sounded good for my system as well.

i imagine he wants the optima cause its a deep cycle style battery and can be drained and charged almost infanatly.

You're thinking of the Optima Yellowtop. Red top is a standard starting battery.
