i went to the parts store the parts guy said they dont make a optima for the ford contour....
yet... so many people have them....
i have some stero mods and lights. i need a optima. can any1 tell me what one to buy thats right for my car

A regular top post red top or yellow top fits fine. If you can, try to find an orange top; it's the same as the red top, but the posts are reversed and therefore easier to mount in a Contour. 4 cylinder: 6 cylinder:

ChattavegasSE, that doesn't really tell him anything. He can't just grab any Optima off the shelf. Model number would be good.

I had the part number somewheres....
...but dang I can't find it now. Top post Optimas will fit, but rear post or reversed post would be the best way to go.

If you get the red top, it gives you a reason to replace the terminals. I may replace my battery soon enough w/ an Optima.
