One of our local pd's is getting chargers. State patrol is starting to get a few as well.

Sorry, this looks like an oversize powerwheels instead of something that should look like a law enforcement vehicle. Maybe its just the color, I dont know..

yeah, but the new v8 impala is more expensive to buy and repair than the current one no??

Because of the Crown Vic's fire problem, some departments now will not buy a Crown Vic at all. What probably happened is that the department wanted new V8 interceptors but didn't want a Crown Vic. The V8 Charger would be an alternative but is more expensive and not nearly as proven as the Impala is as a police vehicle. And being that the SS Impalas aren't selling very briskly they probably got a nice deal with GM to take a few off their hands.

Doesn't look too hot in that color. I have a couple of these posters:

Quite a few agencies around Houston are using Chargers already and TX DPS has a few running around as well.

As far as the Impalas go, I don't see them being used too much longer unless they switch back to RWD.

The LaVista PD my home town originally had Crown Vics. Then for some reason they started using the Dodge Intrepids. But know they have the new black & white Chargers. I have talked to a few officers and they seem to like them very well.
Here's a link. Won't let me copy the pics.

I think a department by the BMW plant in South Carolina has a 5 series patrol car.
