I have posted some details on my overheating problem in this thread.

Last night started to pull it down to install new WP, T/stat etc.

Now, my sons car had been worked on within the last two weeks and had the upper radiator hose replaced and a new t/stat and o-ring installed. The "thermostat to pipe" hose was also replaced.

Here is the wonderful work done on the "thermostat to pipe" hose.



There was no charge for the above work on the invoice. A freebie!!!

What we found when we took off the thermostat housing was also a little surprising!

Pulled off the WP and it was fine, although the black plastic type. Will be getting the correct hose today and will install the new metal WP, T/Stat etc tonight and ALL WILL BE WELL!!!

If anyone hears of someone going postal in College Park MD, please be happy in the knowledge that sometimes going postal is fully justified!

Looks like a "restricted" hose! It shouldn't overheat with NO thermostat otherwise. The shop sure didn't test their "work".

I would contact the BBB and Chamber of Commerce. It if yields no satisfaction, then I'm sure that a local TV station would love to get a hold of this one. Sadly Mike Wallace on 60 minutes would love to dig his teeth in on this one, but he retired.
