I seem to really enjoy spending money on my car.

IT CANNOT BE DONE! I just had a jag up on the lift at work and I looked at it. Nearly impossible for the amateur fabricator. BUT you could get the 3L and manual in 02-03.

"Assuming" that your fabricator was not so amateurish and you had all the right tools.......was there anything in particular that would lead you to believe it could not be done (i.e. Floor Boards on the Tour need to be cut out for X and Y x-type part to fit there or where in the heck would the exhaust go) or is this more of a "what kind of a fool would spend the amount of money it would take to get a job like this done". Just curious as I have not yet been underneath an X-Type to see what it is that you are refering to.

AWD mondeo subframe, transaxle and rear hubs, et al.

THAT would/will be a FAIRLY simple swap to a tour.

Does anyone have a lead on an all-wheel drive Mondeo in a local junkyard? I am not trying to be a smartaleck - really curious if there might be any in the states (or could I find one in Mexico since the Mondeo was sold there but not sure if they were given the option of AWD or not?)
