Ok my car while idling it gets into the red and you can start to smell coolant and it occurs like 5-10 minutes after driving for like a max of 15 minutes, and when I get on the go again it starts to cool off. I've been told by 4 or 5 people it is the thermostat is this correct?
Oh yeah my fans work fine too.
Thanks in advance.

check your coolant levels. One time, some how the coolant disappeared from my resivoir when I was going to school. Next thing I know, my car is smoking with no coolant, don't ask me how. I filled it with water and as soon as I got home I replaced it with prestone.

That was very scary, every week now I check fluid levels to make sure they are fine.
