I purchased a new set of tires about 3 months ago.(I am making a long story short). Anyways, three of the four tires I got forced balanced and they were said to be warped/bad tires. The dealer gave my money back and even left the tires on. The tires cause a very noticable shake at 80ââ?¬â??85mph.

Am I running into the possibility of damaging something by keeping the tires on? For example wheel bearings? motor mounts? suspension? alignment?


Along the same line: When should or is it advised to have your wheel bearings replaced and is there a preferred brand?

It is because they ahve a bad wear pattern. My tires did the same thing when I bought my car. I had them rotated and it was fine. It will mess up greatly the handling of the car and might throw the car out of alignment. If it isn't that bad and you haven't been driving with them like that for awhile then the other things should be fine. The motormounts should be fine, although excessive shaking of the car has been known to loosen or destroy the mounts.

How reputable is the place you're having balance your tires? 3 out of 4 new tires seems very strange, even for the crappiest of tires.

I've see shops that I reckon have monkeys working for them that can't balance tires to save thier life. Could be your problem. Best thing to do is find a good shop and have them tell you what you need to do.

I purchased the tires from Tire Kingdom and they are the ones that had no clue what could be wrong. This whole thing took about a month to resolve.

When they couldn't figure it out they said I could take the car to Good Year and have them force balance the tires since Tire Kingdom doesn't have that capability. Tire Kingdom reimbursed me.

Anyways, when the car was done the mechanics at Good Year said 3 out of four tires were warped. The tires are Good Year Triple-Treads. They are slightly larger than OEM. Maybe that could be part of the issue.

For all I know they messed something up when lifting the car. I've already had that happen twice. Someone either lifts the car up by the body kit or puts the lifter on the unprotected undeside of the car. I don't understand how anyone can mess that up!

my car shakes at 70..turns out my axles are busted..

My car has a very slight shake at 60-65 but then goes away at any other speed.I have two different tires on the front,one is a futura sport(I know crappy but it was on there when I bought it) and the other is a michelin pilot sport(the one I bought).what could be making mine shake?

Sorry if that is thread jacking.I just have a simliar problem and was going to make a post until I saw this one.
