my old atx tranny which has had a cracked casing and a stuck valve body for about 2 years now has finallyhit 100,000 miles and im about to replace it. Im getting 1 from the junkyard with 45,000 miles on it for 650. A few questions b4 i purchase

1. my car is a 99 and the new tranny is an 02 and they said that i need to know the numbers off my tranny to make sure they match b4 I could do the switch, is this true?
2. what internal parts on the new tranny would you recommend switching out just so that i dont have the same problem again. should i rebuild thw whole thing or just change out a few parts. what rae these parts if any and how hard are they to change
i know they are detailed pics and instructions around here on how to do this but i cant seem to find them, cansomeone help.
im also puttin on headers and an external oil cooler while i got everythig out, is there anything else that anyone recommends, thanks
thanks

just tell me what u need the tranny is being taken of my car today so I can't give u an exact quote give me a day or so. The problem with the tranny was it would shift sometimes and sometimes it would slip. Some days it was fine then another it wouldn't work. So I did the quickest thing and found another tranny now I have this one that by the mechanics comments needs a rebuild, but I don't need the tranny anymore. the $90 are just to help me with the cost of the swap, but I willing to help you guys the problem is that it's in Kansas City and maybe if we gut the tranny, the shipping will be cheaper, you guys let me know.
