So i decided to run my fiance's redline ion a few time while we were at the track running my CSVT here is what i got. It is way faster than the tour

So yeah i figured her car was the faster but i just wasnt thinking it was by that much lol

Doesn't seem a lot faster according to those times.

I was racing a modded one some while back and it was a pretty dead heat with him pulling on me after the end of the 1/4 at about 100mph. I had let up a tad tho.

If i could get the car to quit wheel hopping and hook up off the line instead of dropping it on its face it would have even better times but i didn't think it was bad for a bone stock car that still has plenty of warranty left. I dont drive the car every day cause i drive the Tour so a lil more seat time would help too i assume after the warranty runs out it will be getting lots of attention

From your wheel hop commnet I take it the Ion does not have the optional LSD/Boost Gauge package?

The recaros in those cars are heavenly.

05 and 06 models

i see you and 100% of LSJ owners have trouble launching the car...I really wanna give one a go myself beccause I'm seeing 2.4 60's left on right on cobalt and ion forums.

Just a little side note to all this, watch out for the Cobalt SS's, G5's and ION Redline w/ the Stage II kits. They've gotten them to put down 241 hp/220 lbs of torque and if you read those forums at all, the cars are putting down 215 bone stock, so that 241 hp number is low ball. The above mentioned cars are serious contenders, now they need to work on even better suspension and brake mods for them, although I'm sure theres something out by now, but I'm talking factory


Theres something about that blue on the Cobalt as well as the orange that really does it for me , but it must have the polished wheels, not the darker ones though.

G5's only come with the 2.4L engine

but yes Stage 2 + Intake + Exhaust = mid-high 13 sec. car

I'd really like to see one put down over 300whp with the blower though...
