Anyone ever used this on pre-98 headlights?

It's not available pre-cut. You have to buy bulk and do your own cutting. Wondering if it's a big PITA.

My idea is to give my headlights a good sanding/polish and then put some of this on to protect them.

I've read about clearcoating and such, but I'm wondering about this idea as an alternative.

TIA

I've been looking into the 3M laminate to do mine. There is also a company called Starshield Armor that a lot of people use on the show car circuit. I've heard decent things about both laminates, but what it comes down to is the thickness and hardness of the laminate. If I remember correctly, the Starshield Armor is the best in this category. Not sure of the prices or if there are specific applications though. Probably have to buy the sheets as you do with Lamin-X. I'll have to look some more into this Lamin-X company. Maybe they are better.

I haven't ordered, but was thinking about using this company's bulk kits for fog light protection:

all sorts of clear bra or clear vinyl on fogs and etc are useless, fogs take a hell of a beating, I had the 3M stuff on my Hella fogs and they lasted me 5 months..

Well I just wanted it to make the lens yellow...I think that looks hot. At the Uconn show, I saw a few people with yellow covers on their headlights. That was

Don't know. It's either 20 or 40 mil thickness, and comes with a 5-year guarantee.

Actually, the bulk sheets might be a little easier, since you don't have to be as careful about placement. You just smooth it out and trim to fit.

I think the yellow headlights look good on some cars, but probably not on ours. It's the "LeMans Look," dontcha know.

Kinda cool:

And, notso:

Very cool:

But anyway, I'd just be going for clear.
