So the Ford dealership quoted me $85 for one sensor and $130 for another. It is a dpfe sensor that I need and I know there are 2 kinds, a plastic and a metal I believe. Does anyone know of a place online where I could purchase these at a cheaper price? Any help is much appreciated.

Call your local parts places. The aftermarket does make them.

Thanks a lot. I will check with my local Advance Auto soon. Is there any other different names the sensor might go by as well? My friend who is a manager at Advance didn't think he remembered hearing of that kind of sensor of the top of his head. Also, anyone know how much this affects my gas mileage...the sensor that is. I am currently getting 22mpg highway.

EGR position sensor, EGR pressure sensor, etc...

Depending on the failure mode, a new DPFE sensor might (or might not) make a difference in fuel economy. Based on their typical failure mode, it's more likely it won't change anything than that it will.
