Hi everyone. Does anyone know of a shop, either through experience or word of mouth, that has optimized contour y pipes, near the Central Florida area (Orlando). I just want to get some input from contour owners before I go out searching myself. Thanks.

well, not really sure. Most guys do their own. Thats what I did.

I would try it, but I probably don't have the experience or skill that you have at this time. So, if I can take it to a shop where others have been able to get it done, then I know it will be done right. I really hope to learn how to do it in the future. A course in welding would be a great place to start.

check with brad noon at bnmotorsports.com i had baught a opt. y pipe from him once than i got the msds headers and y pipe.

Yea, I did, but he said that he doesn't do them anymore. I still haven't checked out the muffler man shop, maybe this weekend. I'll make sure to pass on my experience with them or any other shop that works out.

you could always get a custom y made with a dual in single out cat. ive seen a pic of that in the forums once. or buy a msds y pipe if you have the money.the stock y pipe is real restrictive though. i had a comparison pic and in it you caould se how the opt pipe you could see strait through it and that the stock one was just 2 pipes crushed together and shaped to make a circle.

An MSDS y pipe would be nice, a little broke right now though. I found many of those pictures with the comparison and man, what a difference. In your opinion, is it like a "night and day" difference on performance or just a slightly noticeable one? Either way, I would like to pair it up with that hi-flow cat/pipe from trubendz one day, along with a decent cat-back set-up.

Modded Y difference is noticeable at top end. Not dramatic. Really counts more when you have lots of other mods and/or a 3L. As for the hi-flow cat/pipe, the stock cat is pretty good, you can spend that money better elsewhere. Cat-back will also help power only slightly, but let's face it, the car will sound soooo cool. 
After the Y, MSDS should be your next call. The pair of headers coated is only about $330 shipped. You can sometimes find a used set for less. Keep an eye on the classifieds once you have some cabbage saved up.

wich headers are $330? i had baught the msds headers like a year ago and i had paid $650 shipping. the labor is what gets you on the headers. i had mine installed at the tire kingdom i was working at. with my discount i only paid $60. regular price would have been around $400. i thinkign of going catless once i put in my superturbo muffler. or having a test pipe made. i think the superturbo muffler should flow pretty good and keep the noise from being super loud with a side pipe.all i have now is a cat resonator and strait pipe to the rear. that is if the muffler will fit in the center tunnel with the heat shield removed. if my measurement are rigth it should fit. where could i find a 2.5 inh tip that isnt rediculously big?

You got the whole kit - Headers, Y, gaskets, hardware, coating, Mils, etc. MSDS lets you just pick & choose parts now. You can get uncoated headers only for $200, Coat for about $100, then shipping $28. I've already got mils & prefer a modded stock y & pick up stuff like gaskets locally. With all the running around it works out about the same, I guess.
