This idea has been kicked around for the past couple years.
Who would seriously be interested in a weekend trip out to New England for some foliage cruising aka "leaf peeping" and other events?

Our usual fall meet occurs late September/early October. It's roughly an all day (Saturday) event where we meet in the morning, cruise a bit, get lunch, cruise another hour or so, pause at scenic points and then return near the starting point for some dinner.
We usually try to eat dinner in a restaurant that has that NE flair, to really add to the whole experience, and not a "chain" restaurant.

Some of the events that we've done in the past in addition to the cruise included a classic NE festival full of craftsmen and food, scenic mountain ski lift trips, a brewery tour with free samples, and exploration of an old tower. Elky usually provides entertainment by dunking himself in ice cold water, and dressing in shorts and a tanktop all day.
here are the only pics I have available at the moment

There are open drag nights each Friday night at a dragway in NH, so that could be an option. There are also autocross events on Sundays.

If there's enough interest, we could narrow down an exact date, and I could arrange to block off rooms at a hotel centrally located to all events.
So feel free to post up if you're interested.
NE will do their fall meet regardless, but making it a weekend event will need more planning.

The NECEG Fall Meet is always the best one each year IMO. I'm all for a full weekend meet, one day isn't enough! CEGers and trolls alike are always welcome (I've trolled the last two fall meets myself). Dates are generally pretty strict around the leaves turning colors (the main point to the meet) but we can work with/around the Chicken Wing Zing if there's enough interest.

It's a chance to meet some other NECEG characters that can't drive to SZ. We'd love to see you guys as well. (Plus if you can't stand my drivel on the boards it's the perfect opportunity to do something about it, heh )

Some pics of previous meets:

There's always an opportunity for photo shoots too:

I agree with Kremit. We have a decent sized group meeting October 13, 14 and 15 at the Tennessee/North Carolina state line Highway 129 (the Dragon) (About 45-hour min drive from Knoxville or Asheville)

Lotsa other stuff to do too. Water fall runs, geo-cache hunting, wineries, and friendly natives...

can't fool you, can we?

And if I would have seen a thread in here about the dragon run, I would have never posted this invite to begin with.
I didn't see until after that the official dragon thread is in the SE section, not in here.

Geocaching! I first saw that from Bob Baylock's profile and have been intending to try it out for the past year. Though you know what they say about good intentions.

Quite alright. There is typically not much interest from much of the rest of the country for the Dragon Runs, so we just post in SE (adding Dragon Run to sig). Last year we had at least one come in from the midwest, this year a few midwesterners & a few NE CEGers may show as well.

Next year, who knows??

Edit: Sig fixed
