Tourige, Xenonking.com does not list D2R bulbs with 9006 base. Just the standard D2R, which will not fit.

And under 9006, they do not specify which type of bulb. So don't count on getting a 9006 D2R unless you contact them first.

So there's lots of posts saying not to get 8000k because the light reflects less. For someone who's interested in max night visibility (during clear weather), which color would be ideal? 5000k?

Also... these are matched to our current bulb types, so it's essentially a drop in replacement... with the exception of wiring in the ballast?

um... also, there is no end date for this gb, right? If so, I'll order morettes (assuming they're released at some point) without lights and get on this stuff.

4300k or 5000k. 4300k is considered strongest output. They offer 9006 but 2 different types. Make sure to choose the correct one.

D2S HID bulbs are designed for cars equipped with projector headlights.
D2R HID bulbs are designed for reflectors based headlights.

and D2R are supplied in this group buy, so unless you want light thrown everywhere then this is pointless for you.

I love how everyone just jumps into these group buys without doing any research except for 'what color bulb' they want. "But its plug and play LOLZ!!!!"

Ok, HOW does it plug and play? There is only ONE CORRECT WAY to wire HID's. Every other way, and the way ive seen alot of 'kits' wired draws power from the headlight circuit... Way bad idea considering HID's need a constant high voltage to the balast.

Any kit you guys consider should show you the wiring schematics (I didnt see any in the threads) so you can see where power is being pulled from, what type of relays are being used... etc.

Hey Morbid,

Next time I'm up there, I'll swing by with my 8000K kit so you can see how they look on a tour...

Remember Mudi with the black Cougar? That car had 8000K HIDs!

Could'nt agree more with ya brotha! proper wiring harness is KEY! My wiring harness has all these fuses and resistors to maintain the steady load. Most kits I see just tell u to splice it with ur current plug..BAAD!!

Ive seen your harness, its a smooth operator! They took the time to make it look all pretty for you. Mines not as sexy, but just as solid

I wonder how many times you and I will have to plug the automotive lighting FAQ page before people start reading.

$250 is a pretty decent deal for HID's even more so for Rebased bulbs (lame). I suppose as long as its not some unknown korean ballast its all gravy. For what its worth, I paid 200 shipped for a Hella Gen 4 (Goonz ->) system, and 50 for 4300k bulbs. if these bulbs die, or the next time I retrofit for my car ill be stepping up to a ~5000k range. I might not even need to however, because if you use projectors you can attain any 'color' you want by modifying the cut off sheild a few mm.
